Believe in Your Dog is Fantastic! Jackie is very knowledgeable on Separation Anxiety and great to work with. When we started my dog had broken the thick plastic at the bottom of his crate and would bark even if I took a couple minutes to take the trash out. Jackie walked me through not using the crate because it was adding to his stress level when left alone. Jackie knows the process of helping your dog gain confidence to be alone. It has been incredibly helpful for me that Jackie creates the training missions so it's one less step to have to think about. We are still working, but now he doesn't bark when I leave the apartment and is gaining confidence with each training mission.

We recently virtually worked with Jackie with our newly adopted 1 year old pup who had severe separation anxiety from the first day we brought him home. She was always extremely responsive, supportive, and worked with all the scheduling needs of our busy family, even on a 4 hour time difference. I really appreciated her knowledge of current research, and was extremely thorough in her approach to creating a plan that worked for our dog. We did the trainings as recommended, 4-5 times weekly, and we can now leave our dog at the house by himself without any destruction. Highly recommend!

I don’t know if I can put into words accurately to describe how much of a savior Jackie is for us with our dog’s separation anxiety. For the 12 weeks that we worked together, she consistently gave us the proper guidance, instruction, and positivity that we needed to help our guy through it. I most appreciated her willingness to participate in our crazy schedules and to do whatever it was necessary to chill out our dogs special situation.

A few months ago we adopted a Pyrenees from the Humane Society without realizing that he had severe separation anxiety. After being destructive after leaving him to run to the store and back (a 90 lb young Pyrenees can do some damage), we reached out to Jackie. During her evaluation, he began showing verbalization and severe stress at 13 seconds! It's definitely been a challenging process to not be able to leave him alone at all and a slow start BUT after one month of Jackie's work, he is now up to 3 minutes without any concern at all, a jumping off point for us to be able to do much more in the upcoming months.

A few weeks into life with my new rescue pup, I realized that he had some separation anxiety issues beyond just adjusting to his new home. His anxiety (especially when crated) manifested in barking and destructive behavior. My vet and foster community recommended desensitization training as part of the toolset to help him improve. I started working with Jackie based on the recommendation of local trainers who encouraged me to try a Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT) - and pointed out that many CSATs are able to be 100% remote. When Jackie started training with my dog, he became anxious pretty much immediately upon departure.

We are so thankful for Jackie! When we started working with her, my husband and I couldn’t even step behind a door of our home without our puppy (~7 months at the time) freaking out. Thanks to her guidance in crafting meticulous individualized trainings, along with our diligence in carrying them out, we slowly progressed from that starting point to being able to be away for a few seconds, minutes, and then hours. Throughout the process, Jackie's knowledge, patience, understanding, and constant support made her a pleasure to work with.

We adopted a 2 yo rescue dog who attached very quickly and intensely to me. He would whine and howl whenever I left him. It was very stressful for him and the family and not a situation that was sustainable long term. Luckily, we found Jackie and had amazing success with her in the few months we worked with her. She had a great approach that was incremental, and I believe that was an important factor in his long term success. Jackie was super responsive, supportive and informative in a manner that met us where we were in any given stage in the process. We definitely met our goals to get him to a place where we could leave him without major stress or whining. I would recommend Jackie's services for anyone facing similar issues.

Jackie has really helped us improve with our dog Rylie. She would go into panic mode without seeing us for 5 seconds and now we can leave her for short durations. This is a long journey and we are still on it, but I am so glad to have had Jackie with us to start it. If you're someone like me, you may be thinking that you can do this yourself. With the right books, will power and dedication you can. However, Jackie showed us the way, laid out all the expectations, all the steps, is a great friend, puts your dog up for success and really makes a difference. I would recommend Jackie to anyone who loves their dog and needs help with separation anxiety training.

We can't say enough good things about Believe in Your Dog! Jackie is wonderful. We are working with her to help our terrier mix, Orka, with his severe separation anxiety. When we adopted Orka a little over three months ago, he would go absolutely bananas when we left him alone--I'm talking instant, throwing-himself-at-the-door-and-screaming freakout every time we left the house. It was so stressful for us, to say nothing of how scary it must have been for him! With Jackie's help, Orka is currently knocking out 3 hour absences consistently with no problems.

I adopted a new dog, around 2 years old, and he really started struggling when I left him home alone for any amount of time (destroying blinds on the windows, jumping and scratching at the front door, tearing up packages, and pulling papers off my desk). I would come home from even short trips out to find him worked up and panting/pacing, full blown anxiety. I found Jackie from a trainer in my local area who recommended that I specifically find an expert in separation anxiety. I've worked with Jackie for 6 weeks and as soon as we started I saw a difference in my dog's behavior.

I have a dog I'm fostering who has separation anxiety and I was beginning to feel that it was something she would always have… how in the world would I be able to adopt her out or even keep her myself when you couldn't leave her alone. I belong to a separation anxiety group where I found Jackie. I first decided I wanted to work with her because she had studied how to deal with SA under some great mentors, plus she has many certifications. I couldn't have picked better she certainly knows what she's talking about…

Jackie was so helpful with my dog. He is a very sensitive and anxious individual and with separation anxiety which causes him to howl when left at home. Jackie could read both me and my dog well, and helped coach me through training him to be more comfortable being left alone. She uses humane and positive reinforcement methods and cares so much about making you and your dog happy and healthy.

Rachel & Charlie (Denver, CO)
We worked with Jackie for help with our Rescue dog, Charlie. Charlie had been abandoned at the shelter at the age of 10, had been adopted, and returned. When he came to us he was crippled by anxiety, and his separation anxiety specifically was preventing us from leaving the house without him. Jackie came up with a training plan for his separation anxiety and worked with us for a month (the length of the training package that we signed up for) on his issues. Charlie still has a long way to go, but he has made a lot of progress!
